  • Why an analytical podcast?
  • Why Steven Universe?
  • How can I listen to the podcast on the go?
  • I’m new to Steven Universe, where should I start?

It’s a difficult question, and it depends on who you ask. If you ask Joseph, the answer would be this:

You have three good options. A) Start right from the beginning (Gem Glow) and move forward, B) Start from Giant Woman, or C) Start from Mirror Gem/Ocean Gem.

Option A is easy to explain, since it’s where the show starts and it sets up the formula. With Option B, Giant Woman is where most of the kinks have been ironed out and the series starts worldbuilding in earnest. As for Option C, it’s the first two-parter and it drops in a major plot element that gives the series momentum.

You could also start from The Message, which begins the first major story arc of the series, but it does mean missing a lot of episodes, information and impactful moments so I wouldn’t personally advise it.

  • How can I interact with the Crystal Gemcast?

We’re always looking for people to comment or send stuff in to us. There’s multiple ways for you to do that.

Firstly, you can leave comments on any post in this website. We’ll always read them. You can also leave a comment on each episode’s reddit thread, tweet at us on Twitter and comment on our facebook posts too.

You can also find us on our Tumblr page, where you can either send us ‘fan mail’ or ask us a question. Finally, if none of those work for you, then you can send an email to crystalgemcast@gmail.com

All we ask is that you don’t comment the same thing everywhere. Once is enough!

  • I love this podcast! What can I do to help?

The most important thing that you can do for the podcast is to listen to it and subscribe, since it allows you to get new episodes as soon as they release, and it helps us in the search rankings. The other thing that really helps is to give us a review on iTunes, since that also helps the algorithms.

Then there’s our social media prescence on Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter. Supporting us there by following, re-posting/blogging/tweeting and favouriting helps to spread the podcast to more people. Finally, just telling people about us helps. Your friends know you better than we ever could.

  • What about supporting you monetarily?

We don’t currently have any way for you to do that, but thanks for asking. We’re looking into it.

  • Anybody you want to thank?

Sure, why not.
